As a woman entrepreneur building my own businesses, I recognized the lack of accessible, women-centered spaces where practical knowledge, transparency, and shared learning could exist without gatekeeping. I founded WIGC to create a professional community where women can learn the government contracting process, strengthen their business positioning, and gain confidence through collaboration and mentorship.
Women In Government Contracting (WIGC) was created with a clear and intentional focus: to support women navigating an industry where they are historically underrepresented. We are a women-centered organization committed to helping women-owned businesses transition into and grow within the government contracting space through education, visibility, and shared experience.
Unlike many organizations, WIGC is built on collaboration rather than competition. We prioritize partnerships with experienced women professionals in government contracting, creating opportunities for mentorship, shared knowledge, and collective growth. By leveraging the expertise and businesses of women already working in this space, we aim to elevate visibility, credibility, and access for women-owned enterprises.
WIGC recognizes the barriers women face in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Our approach is grounded in addressing those challenges head-on by fostering a supportive environment where women can learn the process, strengthen their positioning, and support one another in securing opportunities. Success within WIGC is not achieved alone — it is built through collaboration, accountability, and mutual support.
As a developing organization, WIGC grows alongside its community. Our founder and leadership are actively learning, building, and evolving with the women we serve. Together, we are creating space to be seen, heard, and respected — not by asking for a seat at the table, but by building our own and inviting others to rise with us.
WIGC was created to serve women at all stages of their government contracting journey — from beginners seeking foundational knowledge to experienced contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and industry professionals. Our purpose is to foster a respectful, collaborative community where women can ask questions, share insights, celebrate wins, and grow through accountability and shared learning. Through education, connection, and community, WIGC aims to strengthen confidence, capability, and opportunity for women pursuing government contracting.
